Synergy provides conventional prism traps and EAB monitoring lures. USDA APHIS (United States Department of Agriculture, Animal Plant Health Inspection Service) and CFIA (Canadian Food Inspection Agency) have both done a tremendous amount of research into the detection, and management of Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) which attacks ash trees. The original green and purple prism traps were designed and used to help monitor EAB populations.
Green prism traps are hung in the mid-upper part of the canopy on the south side of the tree. The green traps are baited with green leaf volatile lures (Z-3 hexenol) which attract more adult males.
Purple prism traps can also be used to attract adult EAB.
An alternative to the conventional prism trap is the new Synergy Semiochemicals Multitrap in EAB green or purple.
Advantages of using our Multitrap funnel trap instead of the prism trap
- No sticky glue to handle
- Re-usable for multiple deployments
- Sturdy construction
- Counting catches of beetles is easy from the collection cup

Product #4007 Plastic Hanger for Prism Traps
Unitraps are the preferred trap for many large species of moths.
They are easy to assemble, very durable and can last many seasons. A flexlure is placed inside the clear plastic cage or bucket.
Unitraps are used instead of sticky traps which are not suitable for all moths. Sticky traps can also get saturated quickly.
We carry the green unitrap in stock but can special order white or yellow for larger quantities.
